Askhat Bekenov is the Director of the Department of Strategic and Sustainable Development of Kazatomprom, responsible for the formation and implementation of the long-term strategy of the company. He plays a key role in integrating the principles of sustainable development and ESG (environmental, social and corporate governance) into the activities of Kazatomprom, ensuring compliance with global industry standards and best practices. His responsibilities include developing strategic initiatives, finding new growth points and implementing projects aimed at strengthening the company's position as a global leader in uranium production.

Askhat Bekenov graduated from the Kazakh-British Technical University with a degree in Economics and Business and has over 14 years of experience in strategic planning, investment project management, finance and renewable energy. He held a number of senior positions, including the positions of CFO and CEO of Astana Solar, a subsidiary of Kazatomprom. His portfolio also includes attracting and supporting foreign direct investment initiatives and promoting sustainable development projects throughout Kazakhstan.

Askhat Bekenov joined Kazatomprom in November 2024, bringing to the Company a wealth of management experience and a strategic vision aimed at long-term growth and strengthening the Company's position in the global market.
